Ministry of Catechists
Cathechists carry the message of God’s love to the Catholic children in our State Schools. To share our faith is not an exceptional extra for a Catholic. It is the responsibility of each and evey Catholic. To be invovled in this ministry is a way of carrying out our common vocation and also a way of deepening our faith.
Catechists do not require formal theological training. New catechists are assisted in every way possibleby means of training courses, regualar cathectist meetings, support of other cathechists and good programmes to use.
Catechists in our parish are invovled in religious instruction in four State schools:
Quakers Hill, Marayong South, Marayong Heights and Marayong Central (Davis Road).

Youthworks! attempts to identify areas where the youth can actively participate in life and workings of the church. This allows the youth in the parish to express their faith in their own special way. Our main objective is to help young people in their faith journey and grow closer to God. A direct approach to this would be to participate in the day to day parish activities.
OUR MISSION STATEMENT:
We are a community of young Catholics whose mission is to know and love our Lord Jesus Christ. We do this by activating, developing the spiritual, social needs of our youth and young adults. We do this by prayer and participation in the Eucharist, by creating an atmosphere of friendship and mutual respect.

Over the years Youthworks! St. Andrew’s Youth ministry has evolved. This ministry continues to be based on service to the community which focuses on Christ as the centre of all it’s programs and activities.
YOUTHWORKS! PROGRAMS:
YOUTH WEEKEND:·Occurs every first weekend of the month except for January. This consists of a Youth Mass on Saturday·at 6pm·and Sunday at 10:30am.·
SAYWAT:·ST. ANDREW’S YOUTH WORD AND TEACHING. This youth program caters for students from year 5 to University / College Students. It is held on the third (3rd) Friday of the month except for January. Starts at 7:00pm with a Youth Mass, followed by fellowship, games, breaking open the word and group activities.
YAP: – YOUNG ADULTS PRAYER GROUP. This program is held on the last Sunday of the month except for December and January. This program caters for young adults from the ages 18 – 35.
LIT: – LEADERS IN TRAINING PROGRAM. Becoming a youth leader is a demanding, challenging but most of all a rewarding experience. In order for the continual growth of our ministry we conduct a two year leaders in training program that provides the youth and young adults who are interested in becoming leaders the necessary elements to succeed in this ministry. This program consist of bi-monthly formation sessions and hands on experience in the different ministries Youthsworks! are involved in.
Youthworks! also hold fundraisers each year in order to sustain its ministry and provide opportunities for some of our team members to participate in diocese events / programs and World Youth Day. These fundraising activities are as follows:
